SportsTicketFinder.com – LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers has officially filed paperwork requesting to change his current Cavaliers jersey from the current No. 23 to No. 6 for the start of the 2010/2011 NBA Season.
Although Lebron submitted the required paperwork needed in order to make the changes, the NBA does not have to fulfill his request. NBA players who do not change teams have to apply to change their number in March before the following season.
Lebron initially brought up the idea to change jersey numbers back in November, saying that he wanted to give up the No. 23 out of respect to his hero, Michael Jordan.
If the NBA approves, every sports store in the Nation will be stocking his new No. 6 Cavaliers jersey while slashing prices on his current No. 23 jerseys so that they can make room on the racks. If approved, the NBAstore.com will be among the first to sell the new #6-Lebron Jerseys! Full Story
